Kim Prevost is an accomplished vocalist and songwriter She is the winner of the 1999 BET on Jazz Discovery.She began singing as a child, in church choirs, where she often performed duets with the pastor, her father. Kim returns to her gospel roots on this CD.Guitarist Bill Solley orchestrated all of the beautiful arrangements for the CD.She is accompanied by some of the finest New Orleans musicians including her talented younger brother,vocalist,organist Ed Prevost Jr, who is also producer of this project.This is not another typical Gospel CD, there are musical hints of jazz,Brazilian,pop and R&B through out.Song contributions include songs by pianist,lecturer,novelist,story teller Brad Keeney who wrote a lot of the original spirit filled songs for the CD.A personal favorite of Kim’s from the CD is the title track “Precious is His Love” written by Brad.Kim continues each year along with the help of Ringing Rocks Foundation and Brad Keeney to produce a gospel concert featuring New Orleans finest jazz and Gospel artists.The first concert was graced by a performance by the late great jazz organist Jimmy Smith.The concerts are free and open to the public.
