Invest In Affordable Child Care
Another solution that could reduce poverty in America is to invest in affordable, high-quality child care and early childhood education. The Church could play a major role in this reduction. Each congregation could provide child care facilities for its members or combine these services with smaller member churches nearby. In some areas, there are three or four churches in a square block. Childcare is expensive, ranging from $800 to $1230 per month, which is one-third of income just to be able to work. Thus, the church could provide good, quality care at a cheaper cost.
